Uranus sits a comfortable 31° above the horizon in the east. Uranus was the first planet ever found with a telescope, spotted by William Herschel in 1781, and it rewards the same modest optics today.
Neptune rides high, about 54° up in the south, well clear of any horizon haze. At around magnitude 7.8 it is strictly an optics target; a telescope shows a minute blue-gray disk.
